Lochinvar Public School was opened in 1852 but was closed a number of times in the period between 1852 and 1863. It has had 28 Principals in its 150-year history with the current being Elizabeth Cantwell who was appointed in 2015. When it was opened in 1852 there were 27 enrolments this has steadily grown throughout the years to a current number of 165.
